Saving Horses, Healing Hearts is the title of a 20-minute documentary of CMVHR by Kat Pollan. Kat has been coming to CMVHR for three years from Oregon to volunteer and experience the magical, healing power of the horse. This summer she interned with us for course credit at Oregon State University for her degree in digital communications to use her talent for advocacy work and to raise awareness for humanitarian causes. We are honored and humbled to be the subject of her documentary and proud to share that Kat received an A for her work.

“If you would have told me when I first saw Apollo the winter after his intake that one day this shy, untrusting horse who glared at me would go into scary, alligator infested (or so he thought) water because I had said it was alright and was standing there, I'd have laughed at you and said no way. But he did. It's a little thing that's been built up to by the hard work of a village trying to build the trust that’s been lost, but for one girl with all of the anxiety and all of the doubts and fears—it was so validating to watch him pause then slowly step down to stand next to me.” Kat Pollan#whoissavingwho
